Can you trust someone you do not love?

Love and trust are the main elements which holds relationships, and by extension, families together. As love is so hard to define, people usually take a more practical approach in defining it. Usually, defining love means stating or identifying it’s attributes. The list of attributes includes: Kindness, humility, affection, forgiveness among others. Families in which these elements are in short supplies, usually suffer from serious social and emotional problems.

Are there sancions when those expectations are not met?
Are the inadequate members treated with the same amount of love and respect as those who are meeting the expectations?
